Hello! My name is Amanda Gerard and I am an ESL teacher specializing in Hospitality English.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English writing from Montana State University and one year of English teaching experience. I also have three years of hospitality management experience, and a 120-hour TESOL Certification from the University of Montana.
This online Portfolio is designed to allow you to easily view some of my work!
In “Teaching Philosophy” I have included a detailed account of my personal principles in regards to my conduct in a classroom and my goals for all of my learners. I have also included a personal essay about my experience in the TESOL Certificate Program at the University of Montana and plans for the future.
In “Observation and Practicum” I have included written reports detailing a couple of my ESL classroom experiences as part of my 20 observation hours in the TESOL program at the University of Montana.
The “ESL Classroom Activities” tab includes some examples of classroom ESL activities that I have created to support the kind of learning environment that I will strive for in my teaching career. I have also included some web-based resources that I find to be particularly helpful for ESL teachers around the world.
I have also included this letter of reference from a tenured professor at MSU highlighting some of my skills.
